How I met Clive Anderson
Sat next to him on a bus
She’s a well travelled girl, with a great sense of humour and a winning smile.
Well into the London meet a couple of weeks ago, I was several glasses of wine down when Rupert approached our table and asked if I was absnasm, which I, erm, am. Apparently he’d been there for hours but completely failed to find us. God knows how. But no matter, because the man was an absolute delight! Fun-loving and attentive, he’s the kind of guy that really really listens when you talk to him, and he had lots of anecdotes about his work with a certain 43T-fave celeb. He also accidentally brought Mystery Julian with him, the gayest man that ever did touch my arse, who united us all in common distrust and discomfort. But Rupert was ace! Ace ace ace!
There are only 2 words to describe Rupert…
he is such a nice guy and gives the world’s greatest hugs!
Oh and I’m holding you to that game of pooh sticks!!
Ah Todd, I guess we didn’t really get to talk properly, but I liked what I saw of you, and you were certainly pretty decent about things given that you thought I’d inflicted big gay Mr. J on you!
I appreciate your candour and will happily take you up on that pint next time around. LOL!!
Do you want to know why I suck? I suck because I mistook Rupert to be a good friend of the obnoxious dude who latched onto our 43 Things meetup, so I barely spoke to him except to say things like “is there any way for us to uninvite this guy?” Rupert was innocent of any guilt by association, of course, but we got stuck at different tables and never really got a chance to talk. Yet, even in our brief interactions I could sense that he’s a very nice guy. Rupert, next time I’m in London, I totally owe you a pint or two and some friendly conversation. And thanks for being one of the fun and not at all obnoxious people who came to the party. Everyone enjoyed meeting you and appreciated your un-Julian-like qualities.
I met Rupert this past weekend at the 43Things meet-up in London. Unfortunately, he was sitting far away, like all the way at another table, so I didn’t get too much time to talk to him. But he was very polite and I’m glad I met him! I’ll definitely be in touch next time I pass through that continent!
Michelle imbued our entire get together with her wonderful leftfield sense of humour.
I didn’t think girls with as luscious lips were supposed to read Plato, pretending or otherwise – what gives?
With scarlet jacket and luminous blonde hair – Alyssa was hard to miss.
There’s some people you meet and instantly know they’re destined for great things. Alyssa is one of those people, and I look forward to seeing her change the world – with her intelligence and ethical vision.
